It's that easy!

Also know that we are here to help.  If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact a Personal Banker.

Step 1 - Open your new account with Oak Bank.

To get started, fill out and print our New Account Application and submit it to us. Please  include photocopies of your driver's license or other form of ID to accurately identify you and any joint account holder.

  • Via fax at 608.441.6001 or
  • Via mail to Oak Bank, 5951 McKee Road, Suite 100, Fitchburg, WI 53719.

Step 2 - Update any Direct Deposits to your account.

Many people have their work paycheck or Social Security benefits direct deposited to their accounts.  To make the switch - fill out a Direct Deposit Update Form for each deposit and submit a copy to the payer, keeping a copy for your files. Use the checklist below for types of direct deposit.

  • Company or Employer Payroll
  • Pension/Retirement Plan
  • Bonds
  • Social Security Benefits
  • Disability Income

Step 3 - Update any Automatic Payments  from your account.

Just as you may have automatic deposits, you may also be paying bills, donating to charities or sending other payments from your account.  To make the switch - fill out an Automatic Payment Update Form for each payment and submit a copy to the payee, keeping a copy for your files. Use the checklist below for types of automatic payments.

NOTE:
If you are using electronic bill pay with your old account, please make a copy of your Payee List, and an Internet Banking Specialist will get you setup with iBank & iBillPay.

  • Mortgage, Home Equity Loan, Auto Loan or Lease
  • Insurance (Homeowners, Auto, Life etc)
  • Investments or Retirement Accounts
  • Gas, Electric or Water utilities
  • Landline or cellular phone
  • Internet Service Provider
  • Cable Television
  • Day Care
  • Health Club
  • Credit Cards
  • Charities

Step 4 - Close the account at your old bank.

Now you just need to ensure that all checks or automated payments have cleared your old account.  Then use our Account Closing Form to notify your old institution to close the account. Keep a copy of the form for your records, along with any other documentation pertaining to the account closing.  Many institutions may prefer you use their own Account Closing Form.  You may wish to contact them to find out.

That's it!  You're done!  Welcome to Oak Bank!
