National Wear Red Day is the one day each year we dedicate to building awareness of risk, and raising funds for research and education on behalf of women everywhere.

Dear Friends of Lily's Fund:
We wanted you to be the first to know that the
second Lily's Luau was a HUGE success! A whole lot of time, energy,
concern, and compassion combined to raise more than $40,000 for epilepsy
research at the University of Wisconsin.
On Saturday evening, we announced our vision: to
fund a new research fellowship at the UW-Madison. This will bring bright
young scientists to the university and focus their energy on epilepsy
research -- “cracking the code" of seizures. We are well on our way to
making that vision a reality.
You are all a part of our journey toward a cure and
our much-needed message of hope for everyone who lives with epilepsy.
Thank you for joining us, whether by email, by luau, by phone or by
thoughts. If you have 3 minutes to spare, please watch the inspiring
video produced by John Roach Projects for Lily's Luau.
Thank you for your support and encouragement. To stay in touch with Lily's Fund in the coming months, you can find us on Facebook or Twitter, or just visit our web site from time to time: http://www.lilysfund.org

In 2009, Oak Bank donated 99 pounds of food and $45 providing 394 meals to those struggling with hunger in our community. Over 2.7 million meals were raised during the 2009 food drive providing over 19 million meals to those in need. Thank you for your support.
Oak Bank was proud to sponsor the 1st Annual 5 mile/8K Walk/Run to Benefit the Jodi Lou Lung Cancer Fund on June 7th, 2008. With over 340 registered, and over $32,000 raised, the Creating Hope UW Fundraising Campaign will match these funds dollar for dollar. The proceeds benefit the University of Wisconsin Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center which promotes research and getting the drugs from research to the bedside.

Congratulations
to Oak Bank CEO, Bob Gorsuch for being a part of the Race to Cure
Diabetes in Whitefish, Montana. Together with his daughter, Amy
Eager, and grandson, Prentice Eager, they raised over $22,000 for the
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) by each riding over 104
miles. They were a part of the Madison team of 22 riders that
together raised over $90,000 during the event.

The need for your help not only continues, but has increased. The poverty rate in Wisconsin is the highest it has been in 10 years.
In this state, tens of thousands of children and adults go to bed hungry every night. Food, along with clothing and shelter, are the most basic of human needs, and yet many truly do not know were their next meal is coming from.
When you help us raise meals during this campaign, you give hope to thousands of people who are distracted in their daily routines - whether it is at school, work or home--because they are hungry and physically and emotionally stressed to secure food. By providing meals and raising awareness of hunger, we can make a difference in our neighbors' lives.
Help us raise meals to ensure that in this land of plenty, all people have enough food to fill their plates and nourish their lives.

Although many of the nominees from across Dane County displayed noteworthy talent, Bob's leadership and connection to people made the selection committee look to him as the executive most deserving of this award. He has shown great determination throughout his career. As a bank president for nearly 25 years, Bob discovered his own personal potential when he set out to launch a new bank in the Madison area and in turn, helped strengthen and enhance Fitchburg's identity as a vibrant place to live, work and play. He treats his customers and staff like family, even at the bank where the smell of warm cookies makes you feel at home. He is committed to the community and has remained extremely successful in the ever-changing banking industry.
"We couldn't be more thrilled to announce Bob Gorsuch as our 2004 Executive of the Year. Bob was a natural choice because he embodies the ideals of Sales & Marketing Executives of Madison--commitment to our industry and commitment to the community. His reputation, civic achievements, professional accomplishments and personal approach make Bob an executive we can all look up to." --Christin Miller, Vice President of SME Madison. The Boys & Girls Club New Allied BranchMission: To inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens, through structured programs in a safe environment.
How You Can Help: After many years, the residents of Allied-Dunn's Marsh are frustrated with living in Madison's most challenged neighborhood. They are clamoring for change and, admirably, want to participate in a revitalization of the area rather than simply move away. We need to capitlize on this desire and faciliatate change in one of our community's last troubled spots. With your partnership, the new Boys & Girls Club Allied Branch will play a major role in providing hope and opportunities for young people and their families to break negative neighborhood cycles and flourish as leaders.
